2008, Dalby Herald: Business Excellence Awards - "Can't Beat Workshop Experience" Dalby Engine Rebuilders has been supplying goods and services throughout Regional Queensland and northern New South Wales for over 50 years. Brian and Merle Meyers co-founded the business in 1958 and are pleased their children, Michael and Catherine, are continuing with the commitment of providing the best service, price and advice to the trade client and the man on the land. Dalby Engine Rebuilders has always been a family-owned and orientated business, believing that by staying privately owned they gain greater clientele knowledge to better serve Dalby and the district. In 2007 the company saw yet another major renovation to relocate the spare parts division back under the same roof as the workshop. "We're pleased to have the two respective facets of Dalby Engine Rebuilders back under the same roof, as they work in harmony to provide an exceptional, all-round service for our clients, who now have the opportunity to talk to our experienced staff from both divisions face-to-face, which is crucial to some clients," said Mick Meyers. Dalby Engine Rebuilders workshop is a modern engine-reconditioning workshop specialising in engine reconditioning, automotive machining, general engineering and engine assembly, and is equipped to handle the largest of diesel and petrol engines. It also has exchange and new motors for sale at competititve prices. Dalby Engine Rebuilders Spare Parts have parts to suit most passenger, commercial, truck, agricultural and heavy earthmoving machinery for petrol, light and heavy diesel engine applications. We carry a wide range of hard-to-get spare parts and if it's not on our shelf, we can usually source it overnight. Also in stock is a vast range of engine kits, lubricants, truck and trailer parts, tools and accessories. It is also a "Tools for your Trade" supplier. Catherine Celledoni was very pleased to accept an award for excellence on behalf of the company at Friday night's gala dinner. She credits the success of the company to her loyal and dedicated sales team. "Our spare parts team has over 89 years experience with this company," she said. Spare Parts manager Geoff Bradly has been with the company 25 years, Roger Chard 37 years, Wayne Cook 15 years and Dallas Rolls 12 years; you can't buy this wealth of knowledge and the team attending regular training to keep up-to-date in the ever-changing motor industry. Our workshop also boasts a team with a long history with this company. With the merging of the two divisions, "It's a fresh start for us, enabling us to concentrate on what we do best - which is providing expert advice", Catherine said. "We wish to thank our loyal customers for their continued support of this company over many years. Also huge thanks must go to the Dalby Chamber of Commerce, for hosting the Business Excellence Awards. It is a wonderful opportunity for local businesses to be recognised winners by their customers and the gala dinner is a wonderful celebration of business in Dalby. The chamber is very proactive, and provides an invaluable service to local businesses. Also the gala dinner would not be possible without the generous support and sponsorship of many local organisations. It is truly a night the business community looks forward to each year." 2008: Apprentice wins KC tool kit Michael Anderson, an apprentice diesel fitter at Ostwald Brothers, was the winner of a recent competition run by Dalby Engine Rebuilders. Shoppers purchasing any KC Tool product were eligible to enter the draw by completing an entry form. Michael won a fully stocked KC Pro-AM tool kit valued at over $800. Dalby Engine Rebuilders manager of spare parts, Mr Geoff Bradley said he wishes to thank Michael and all entrants for supporting this promotion. "We will continue to run these competitions rewarding our customers the chance to win great prizes, it is an opportunity for us to thank those who shop locally and support our business," he said. He also said he invites anyone to visit the store on Loudoun Road to see the vast range of specials on offer, and to look out for the next in-store competition. 3.10.2007 Rebuilders return home Last Wednesday local businesses officially welcomed Dalby Engine Rebuilders back to their original location on Loudoun Road, with the re-merging of their workshop and spare parts department. Through the Business After Hours event facilitated by the Dalby Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the business celebrated a fresh beginning in a familiar setting with industry and retail colleagues, as well as Chamber and Town Council representatives. The evening began with a talk from Catherine Celledoni who works at Dalby Engine Rebuilders, who then handed over to her husband Mark to tell the crowd the history of the business and anecdotes about its humble beginnings. Mr Celledoni also recounted the original decision to set up shop on Loudoun Road when it was essentially a dirt track on Dalby's outskirts. The stretch is now home to a majority of the machinery and trade businesses in town. Established in 1958, the business has moved several times due to the need for expansion and showroom space. Dalby Engine Rebuilders are now back on Loudoun Road, at number 15. "We're pleased to have the two respective facets of Dalby Engine Rebuilders - the workshop and spare parts - back under the same roof as they work in harmony to provide an exceptional, all-round service for our clients, who now have the opportunity to talk to our experienced workshop staff," Mr Celledoni said. At the Business After Hours event guests were invited to tour the showroom and workshop, a lucky door prize raffle was drawn and a barbeque and drinks were catered for, making for a lively event of social networking. "We'd like to thank the chamber for organising Business after Hours events, as they are a great platform for showcasing new developments and networking with business peers. Thanks also to everyone who attends," Mrs Celledoni said.
